Jewelry Care

Care instructions for pearl jewelry

Gentle companions – special care

Pearls are precious natural wonders. They are made of organic material and are sensitive to their environment. However, with loving care, they can retain their delicate shine for generations.

What negatively affects pearls?

Four factors are particularly damaging to pearls:

· High temperatures

· High humidity

· Intense light

· Polluted or chemically contaminated air

Pearls contain natural moisture - if they dry out, they lose their shimmer and can even crack.

Wearing is the best care

Pearls live from their proximity to the skin. When worn regularly, the slight moisture and warmth of the skin keeps them supple. This keeps your surface shiny and lively.

What you should protect your pearl jewelry from

· Protect pearls from heat and open flames– they contain water and could burst.

· Avoid contact with perfume, cosmetics, hairspray, cleaning products or chlorinated water.

· Do not wear your pearl jewelry while showering, swimming, taking a sauna or doing household chores.

· Pearl necklaces should not be permanently stretched or bent - the threads could stretch or break.

· Store pearl jewelry separately and in a soft bed, e.g. B. in a fabric bag or jewelry box with velvet lining.

Cleaning and storage

· Clean your pearls only with a soft, slightly damp cloth or a mild one Soap solution.

· Do not use chemical cleaning agents or ultrasonic devices.

· Let the chain dry flat so that the thread does not stretch.

· Do not store beads in rooms that are too dry or too damp. and not in direct proximity Sunlight.

One final tip

Remember: Each pearl was once the work of a living shell - a small miracle of nature. When you wear and care for your pearls with care, you not only preserve their shine, but also their history.
